So we are about to put another year behind us.
Our Outdoor Show didn't do so well, but then again we didn't dig a hole. So we are going to try again. Forrest Mitts has volunteered to chair the next effort. I expect everyone to help. If Forrest asks you for help, Please step-up and Help Him. This isn't an easy job and takes a lot of time.
December 4th is our Christmas Party! Please remember that if you are going to do the Gift exchange,. Please keep the value between $10 and $20 Generic. Santa has said he will visit us and see the kids. Kids need presents also (so parents don't forget!)! Kevin will be doing the Turkey and Gravy! Chris & Yvonne will be doing the Hams and Stuffing. BJ is Coleslaw with Pineapple & Raisins. Donna Green Bean Casserole & Rolls. Jerry Sweet Potatoes. Katheran Pie. Robin Deserts. Dara Pie & Salid. Renee Cranberry Sauce - Olives. Forrest & Susi Pumpkin Pies. So you can add your name to the list!
As you can see on page 2 under NBP Schedule it's looking like a very busy year. I will need people at least the first half of the year to fill-in for Yvonne and I. Yvonne and I have Veterans of Foreign Wars Winter Conference in Portland in January. Veterans of Foreign Wars Summer Conference is the Middle of June and lasts a week, I'm hoping to be back for the Squawfish Outing as that is one of my favorite places. I just finished clean my concentrates from last trip to Squawfish and had a couple real nice pieces along with fines. Used some clay buster in my tub of water and it sure did help!
Jerry and I will have the dredge setup for a common dig. I have a few plans, but not going to put them in the News Letter because Uncle Sam doesn't need to know our business.
As many of you know there is a meeting in Brookings. I plan to attend the meeting and speak our piece.
We have a New President.
Many in Washington DC seem to be scared about what he is going to do. I realize some of the promises made may not happen. At least not right away. He will need our support and perhaps a few letters of encouragement as to what we as miners need to happen. We will also need to write our Congressmen and Senators, both State and in Washington DC.
Our membership is way down from a couple years ago. We need to ensure that we work at recruiting new members.
Membership dues are due!
It is very important that you take the time to write a letter to your Senator or Representative and let them know how you feel about all of the anti-mining bills that are being brought before them. It don't have to be elaborate. Just a few lines expressing your displeasure if they vote FOR instead of AGAINST these bills. Please don't use threats or vulgar language. Also be sure and write that you want your letter included in the public record.
Here is a list of your Senators and Representatives:
